This might be one of those situations where if you’re only reading the comic online then you’re missing out on a little bit of story. This page (and the pages that take place in the coach), while being a bit of a narrative dump, is the nexus point between the main comic and the two Hellrider Jackie short stories that have been told; the first––”Save the Bones“––was at the end of Volume 1 (and this was published on the website) and the second––”The Patient Feast”––that was included at the end of Volume 4, which has not yet been published on the website.
It’s not so much about one story having one piece of information and the other piece is hidden somewhere else; it’s more that with this scene we get an explanation for why things were happening in “The Patient Feast” since Hellrider Jackie is notoriously opaque as a narrator.
