I wanted to take a small moment to plug a new venture I am really pleased to be a part of: the Text Adventure Book Club and its associated Text Adventure Podcast. It’s a book club panel discussion podcast that specifically focuses on books about games (like journalism, memoirs, histories, etc., not novelizations of video game stories). The core of the group consists of about four of us and the hope is to really let gamers know that there’s a lot of books out there for people like us and to, with hope, inspire folks to get into some reading. We just released our first episode, talking about Mike Drucker’s recent memoir, Good Game, No Rematch: A Life Made of Video Games. It was a fun discussion that not only examined the ups and downs of the books, but got us to talk about our own experiences and thoughts about how games have impacted our own lives.
