For the third year in a row, D. Bethel and Long John will be a featured artist at Crocker-Con, the annual local arts celebration held at the Crocker Art Museum. It will be held on Thursday, September 8th, from 5-9pm. Admission is $10 or free if you’re a member of the museum.

This show will be the premier of Long John, Volume 2, after which it will be available for purchase online. The Tuesday after Crocker Con––September 13th––the remaining pages will start updating on the website.

The big announcement for the show (aside from the book) is that I will be sharing table space with “Save the Bones” artist, Josh Tobey, who will be selling prints of a few of his paintings (not Long John-related). So, for the first time ever, the entirety of the  Long John creative team will be in the same place for a show.

At the show I will have the following for sale:

  • Long John, volume 1
  • Long John, volume 2
  • Long John print 11″x 17″
  • “Beam Me Up” Spock/Leonard Nimoy tribute print 8.5″x 11″
  • “Doctor Cthulwho” print  8.5″x 11″
  • Long John “Snake’s Eye” print (volume 2 cover) 11″x 17″
  • “Save the Bones” cover print (from volume 1 by Josh Tobey) 11″x 17″.

Overall, it looks like it’s going to be a good time and I hope, if you’re in the area, you’ll come by and say hi! There’s also a lot of other great local artists that will be at the show and I’m quite excited to chat with them again. For the first time, I will have a Long John banner, which looks fantastic; I took some goofy pictures, too.
